Near the west end of the trail at Dahle Conservancy Park on Seminole Highway, one mile south of the Hwy. 12/14/18/151 interchange. Central trailheads at Olin-Turville Park on John Nolan Drive, one mile north of Hwy. 12/18; or on Moorland Rd. 1.2 miles south of the Hwy. 12/18 and South Towne Rd. interchange (via South Towne, Raywood and Moorland Roads). Or, in downtown Madison at the Monona Terrace parking ramp on John Nolen Dr./Hwy. 151.

A daily or annual State Trail Pass is required for ages 16 and older on the Military Ridge State Trail.

Some sections are on public streets open to shared bicycle/motor vehicle use. Use traffic light demand buttons to cross busy intersections. Walkers, in-line skaters and wheelchairs also use the trail. Always yield to pedestrians. The trail traverses rolling terrain for much of the Nine Springs E-Way portion. Some steep descents will be encountered. Control your speed at all times

The Capital City State Trail is the link around and through Madison between the Military Ridge State Trail and, eventually, the Glacial Drumlin State Trail. The Capital City Trail's asphalt surface is great for bicycling.
17.8 miles total - 6.3 miles for the City of Madison section, 11.5 miles for the Nine Springs E-Way section, and 3.7 miles on the Military Ridge State Trail connection to the Cty.
